Monad Shoal (Thresher Shark)

Dive site in
Improve

Monad Shoal is among the places in the world where one can dive with the thresher sharks, a species known for being pelagic and living at depths beyond 300 meters, but which comes here closer to the surface to benefit from the cleaning provided by the wrasse fish.

The dive site is a sunk island, rising from 200 meters deep and having its top between 20 and 27 meters deep, where the encounters with the sharks take place.

Besides the thresher sharks, divers can see here different types of rays, such as manta rays, eagle rays and devil rays. Many reef fish, moray eels and garden eels also live here.

The macro marine life is exciting as well, with stonefish, nudibranches and various types of octopus catching divers' attention while they wait for the thresher sharks to come from the deep.
