Alternative names: Tetraodontidae, Pez Globo
The Pufferfish is found in tropical and subtropical waters. This type of fish is quite popular thanks to its unique defense mechanism because when in danger, the Pufferfish starts ingesting a large quantity of water which transforms it into a big ball coated with toxic spines, but not all species have those spines though.
The meat of the Pufferfish is called "fugu" in Japan where it's considered a delicacy that is only prepared by well-trained licensed fugu chefs, because one wrong move and it can cause deaths to the customers.
