Frequently Asked Questions

How can we help you?

What is dive.site all about?

dive.site aims at giving divers a place where they can plan their future trips based on the previous experience of other divers. The website revolves around an interactive map which allows you to easily explore dive sites, dive centers and the information that the community of divers has been adding (such as dive site ratings, the marine life you can find at a particular dive spot or a more detailed description including dive site depth, currents and underwater features).

We also decided to add the available dive centers in each area, so a diver can access such info if needed. Our main focus remains around divers and their experiences with the dive sites themselves, though.

Why should I make a dive.site account?

Once you make an account on dive.site, you will be able to do a lot of awesome things. These include keeping track of your dives, rating your dive experiences, making lists of dive sites you wish to visit, adding photos, discovering new diving spots as well as following your buddies' underwater adventures.

Is dive.site free to use?

Yes, you can use dive.site for free.

How can I edit my account details?

Log in to your account and then click your profile icon, at the top right corner of the page. Afterwards simply click your name and you will reach the page where you can edit all of your account's details.

How can I see my dives?

Log in to your account and then click your profile icon, at the top right corner of the page. Afterwards click the orange 'VIEW MY DIVES' button.

Can I invite my dive buddies to dive.site?

In the top right corner of the page, after you log in to your account, there is a tab called 'ACTIVITY'. That link directs you to your personal feed, where you can see what dive spots your buddies have been exploring and what their experiences have been like.

I am a dive center owner, how can I have my business listed on dive.site?

Simply give us a message using the contact form on our website with the details of your business (name, address, email address, phone number and a short description) and we will list your dive center on our website.

We will then send you a link for you to claim your business. This will allow you to edit the details yourself and especially gain visibility on dive.site, as claimed dive centers get ahead of unclaimed competition.

I own a liveaboard, does this mean I won't be listed on dive.site?

No, you can still be listed on dive.site even if you own a liveaboard instead of a regular dive center. Simply send us an email with your operation's land headquarters and once you claim your business just make sure to emphasize in the description the fact that it is a liveaboard and the services you have on board.

What else can I do after I claim my dive center?

You can further contribute to the community and increase your presence on dive.site by curating the dive spots in your area and adding descriptions to them. Simply follow the 'Improve' link or write us a message, telling us which dive site you would like to describe, and we will send you an invitation link for you to do so.

We provide credits to the dive centers who send us descriptions, as you can see here.

I am not happy with the name/coordinates of a dive site, can I change them? If so, how?

Any user can send suggestions for improvements to dive sites.

In order to do so, just go to any dive site's page and hit the 'Improve' button, which you can find at the bottom right corner of the map.

Afterwards, select your desired option from the dropdown menu.

I know about dive sites which aren't listed on dive.site, how can I add them?

You can search for dive sites in the search bar located on the map on homepage or in the header of other pages.

If a particular dive site is not yet included on our list, you have the option of adding it yourself. Look for the 'Add dive site' button at the bottom right of the search results.

Our team of moderators will check it and approve it if everything is alright.

I saw a very interesting critter during my dives, how can I add it to my divelog on dive.site?

Simply add a dive and then head to its dedicated page. You will see a 'ADD MARINE LIFE' link.

As you type the critter’s name, you can either submit one of the suggestions that will pop up after the first three letters (if the animal is in our database) or submit a new species.

All new entries are checked by our team of moderators, so you don’t have to worry whether you have misspelled the name.

I have accidentally added a dive site that doesn't exist, how can I fix this?

Simply contact us using the contact form and our team of moderators will take care of this issue.

Is there any way for me to import my existent dive logs?

I have a file with all my divelogs, can I import it?

You can upload individual dive logs or import a file with multiple dive logs and select the specific dive you wish to add. We will think about adding the possibility to upload multiple dives in bulk in the future.
