Scuba Junkie provides daily dive trips to more than 25 islands in the Celebes Sea. Whether you want macro diving at Mabul and Kapalai or wish to dive with sharks and turtles at Sipadan Island (frequently voted in the top 10 dives sites in the world) Scuba Junkie will take you there.
The triangle between Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines is one of the most bio-diverse marine habitats in the world. Strong ocean currents, deep sea trenches and sea mounts, combined with active volcanic islands have created a complex oceanographic environment that is paradise for divers. The beauty of this region lies in its diversity. The dive spots and marine life vary from island to island and we recommend every visitor dive at least a few of them in order to fully appreciate what this area has to offer, from swirling barracuda to juvenile frogfish. Based in Semporna, Scuba Junkie is the only dive operation to visit more than 25 islands here on a daily basis.

Discover Sabah’s most beautiful and stunning underwater world with Borneo Divers Mabul Resort. Located in the East Coast of Sabah, just off the coastline of Mabul Island, Borneo Divers Mabul Resort is passionate in showcasing the best of Borneo’s beautiful and lush marine life to the world.
Borneo Divers began their dive trips to Sipadan, the secret oceanic paradise discovered by Ron Holland. Subsequently, Mr. Holland welcomed underwater explorer Jacques Cousteau and his film crew to Sipadan Island which resulted in Mr. Cousteau’s movie “Borneo: Ghost of the Sea Turtle”. This documented Sipadan’s beauty and lush marine life, bringing the island international fame.
Clement Lee became a certified PADI dive instructor and pioneered the very first dive school in Tanjung Aru with the approval of PADI’s American headquarters. Inspired to share his passion for diving with more people, Lee also founded the first Child Academy in Sabah, produced Malaysia’s first female dive instructor.
Borneo Divers is proud to still be the leading professional dive operation in Sabah, Malaysia. With operations on both the East and West Coasts of Sabah, Borneo Divers really does have the best of both worlds. The team of PADI professionals at the institute range from Divemasters to Course Directors (the highest accolade available within PADI).
A few minutes by boat from the islands of Sipadan and Mabul but a full world away from them lies the exhilarating Sipadan-Kapalai Dive Resort, sitting on its sturdy stilts on the shallow sandbanks of the Ligitan Reefs. Planned and built in full style as an airy, comfortable, sunny water village with no land in sight, it boasts a mile-long sandbank of powdery white sand where one can suntan at complete leisure while gazing out to the miles of brilliant turquoise stretching into the horizon offering the purest image of natural serenity.
Dive spots are extremely close and can be reached in just a few minutes by speedboat and some of them, actually, just by swimming from the dive center pier. For those who are ready to explore more than the tiny marvels of Kapalai’s macro life, can, in just a few minutes, dive in Sipadan (where big fish and turtles abound) or in Mabul (where silky and muddy bottoms offer different and equally pleasant experiences and opportunities to the lovers of "muck diving").
With a combination of sun and water in a unique and serene setting with friendly staff, Sipadan-Kapalai is an ideal destination for diver and non diver alike seeking a great holiday experience!
Sipadan-Kapalai Dive Resort is accessible through Semporna, Sabah Malaysia where our Pulau Sipadan Resort and Tours jetty office is. Advance Booking is necessary to avoid any inconveniences. Booking can be made through the inquiry form in these sites.
Uncle Chang and his team are committed to the environmentand to sustainable ecotourism. This means running a diving lodge that uses minimal resources and makes as little impact on the environment as possible, particularly our sensitive marine ecosystem which they, and just about everyone on Mabul, depend on for their livelihoods.
Thwy hire locals because sustainability also means helping to generate income and employment for the community here. This also gives them a stake in the ecotourism industry and therefore in the protection of the local environment, thus helping to discourage unsustainable economic activities such as bomb- and cyanide-fishing.
They provide a safe, fun and unique experience for all who come to dive with them. The dive instructors and divemasters are PADI-certified, experienced, and generally awesome to be with. Above water, you may find yourself clinking bottles, singing the Sipadan Song, and jamming rock’n’roll classics with them along with the rest of the staff. Not a dull moment passes here, in or out of the sea. Before they know it, people are often extending their stay.
Finally, they are committed to providing you an affordable adventure experience. The living quarters are not like a five star resort’s but they are clean, safe, and fitted with basic amenities. This is meant to keep your holiday focused outdoors and not inside an expensive box, so to speak.
