Marla’s Mystery is a wreck dive site located off Racha Yai Island. The wreck was sunk in 2000 by Mike Star, an instructor at one of the island’s dive centers. Stark discovered a rusting hull in a shipyard and decided to turn it into an artificial reef. All dangerous materials were removed from the vessel before it went underwater. The wreck was named Stark’s daughter.

The ship lies in 32 meters/100 feet of water just outside Bay 2 on the northeastern coast of Racha Yai. The top of the wreck can be found at 26 meters/86 feet. Penetration is possible.

Hard and soft corals are growing on the structure. Inside, divers can spot moray eels and other creatures hiding there. Around the wreck, one can see glassfish, blue-linen snappers, fusiliers, scorpionfish, lionfish, tuna, and Jenkins whip rays.

Marla’s Mystery is suitable for advanced divers. Visibility is 10 – 30 meters/33 – 100 feet and the currents are mild to moderate.
