Banana Reef

Improve

Banana Reef takes its name after the shape of the coral reef found here. The reef is surrounded by 15-meter-deep sandy areas.

Banana Reef can be dived by divers of all levels, but it is best done as a drift dive and therefore it is best if divers are of advanced level.

The visibility here averages 30 meters and it allows for the observation of anemones, soft and hard corals and gorgonians, all of which house numerous species of marine life, including turtles, eagle rays, clownfish, angelfish, glassfish, bannerfish (large colonies of them), jacks, nudibranchs, lionfish and pufferfish.

Whitetip reef sharks are occasional visitors here.

There are also pinnacles and caves at Banana Reef, which make for a truly fascinating underwater exploration.
