Sucre, also known as the Johnny Morris, is a 72-meter-/237-foot-long freighter that rests upright on the continental slope with its bow pointing south. The German ship was built in 1957 and was sunk as an artificial reef in 1996. It’s located off Pompano Beach and makes a great spot for seeing big fish.
The beams and sailings are covered with corals. If you’re a certified wreck diver, you can penetrate the ship to explore its insides. The engine room is clean and roomy; here, you can see many lionfish.
