The Palancar Caves dive site in Cozumel is a multi-level drift dive suitable for intermediate divers. It has a depth of 12-37 meters (40-120 feet) and features numerous caves and canyons.
The corals formations are shaped as tall towers, spires, buttresses, and gullies. As for marine life, this is not as impressive as in other parts of Cozumel. However, you don't dive Palancar Caves for the fish, you come here for the spectacular corals and sponges. Nonetheless, you may encounter species such as red spotted hawk fish, butter hamlet fish, shy hamlet fish, jacks, trumpetfish, creole wrasses, and damselfish.
