The Maamigili Beyru dive site is located within the Marine Protected Area of South Ari Atoll. It’s known as one of the best spots in the Maldives for swimming with the whale sharks. There’s chances of spotting a whale shark throughout the year, as some of the animals are believed to be resident to the area.

The depth of the dive site ranges from 6 to 25 meters (20-82 feet) and you’ll most likely enjoy good visibility that can reach 25 meters. The water temperature at Maamigili Beyru is a pleasant 27-30° C (80-86° F), depending on the time of your visit. Keep in mind that the current can get strong, although this is generally considered a very easy dive. The best diving conditions are found August through September.
