Eighteen Palms is the house reef of Plaza Beach & Dive Resort Bonaire, located right in front of the resort. The name comes from the eighteen palm trees that grow in the garden next to the site.

It’s a great place to spot sea turtles, rays, and large schools of barracudas, tarpon, and gray snappers. Octopuses, Southern squid, lobsters, hermit crabs, Spanish hogfish, parrotfish, and different species of Gobies are often spotted here too.

The reef reaches a depth of 35 meters (115 feet). In the deep, you may be lucky enough to spot Caribbean stingrays and even manta rays.

Divers can enter Eighteen Palms either by boat or from the beach of Plaza Beach & Dive Resort. It’s an easy dive, accessible to all divers within each’s certification depth limits.
