Christ of the Abyss Statue is located off off Key Largo and is one of the two underwater statues of its kind placed underwater. The other Christ statue is found in the Mediterranean on the Italian Riviera.
The bronze statue was placed underwater in 1965 and is now one of the most popular dive sites in the country and is visited by divers from around the world. Christ is depicted with his hands and head raised toward the surface of the water.
Found in very shallow water at a depth of about 7 meters/25 feet with its hands just 3 meters/11 feet below the surface, the spot is suitable for divers of all levels as well as snorkelers.
