Barco C-58

Dive site in
Improve

The C-58, also known as Anaya General, is the wreck of a former US navy vessel used as a minesweeper during World War II. It was sunk on purpose to create an artificial reef and now lies at a depth of about 25 meters/82 feet, broken in two.

The wreck is located less than half an hour from Isla Mujeres.

Penetration is possible and divers can explore all rooms of the ship.

Diving is possible all year round, with water temperatures averaging 82° F/25° C and visibility topping 30 meters/100 feet. However, the strong currents in this area make this dive suitable only for experienced divers.

The C-58 wreck is home to marine animals like eagle rays, manta rays, groupers, grunts, barracudas, among others.
