Wrecks
There are over 75 wrecks in the waters surrounding Miami and more boats are expected to become artificial reefs over the next years. The first boat to go down as part of the city’s artificial reef program was a steel tug named Orion that was sunk in 1981. Freighters, army tanks, oil platforms, and even yachts have been sunk since then.
