The Gymnothorax thyrsoideus is a medium-sized fish measuring an average of 40 cm in length. Its body is dotted with small dark spots and has a predominantly beige color. It has a grey head with white eyes, hence its common name (white-eyed moray). These morays are widespread throughout the Indo-Pacific and like shallow waters.
