The striped bass is a species of fish that can be found along the Atlantic coast of North America. It is the state fish of Maryland, Rhode Island and South California.
They have a streamlined, silvery body decorated with dark striped that are running from behind the gills to the base of the tail.
The history of the striped bass dates back to the Colonial period and many authors described the immense abundance of striped bass along rivers in the coastal Northeast.
