The Spanish shawl is a species of nudibranch native to the west coast of North America, but has been found as far as the Galapagos Islands.
The beautiful nudibranch is vividly colored, displaying a stunning purple body with orange cerata on its back.
The animal grows up to 7 cm in length and 1.3 cm in width and lives at depths up to 27 meters. It feeds on hydrozoan colonies growing on kelp.
