The Spanish grunt is a ray-finned fish that lives in the Western Atlantic, from southern Florida and the Antilles to Brazil.
They usually measure around 25 cm but some reach a size of up to 43 cm in length. It is distinguished by yellow or gold color between the higher black line and the dorsal spine.
