The smallmouth base is a species of freshwater fish that can be found in the streams, rivers, sandy bottoms of lakes and reservoirs around North America. It is generally green with dark vertical bands along the side.
The smallmouth base has a reputation as a hardy game fish which made them popular all around the Globe, first being introduced in Belgium in 1873.
