The saddled seabream is a saltwater fish of the Sparidae family found in the Mediterranean Sea, the Eastern Atlantic Ocean, as well as in the Black Sea waters.
This species has an elongated body shape and laterally flattened gray-silvery scales. It can grow to a length of 25 cm and weigh about 1 kg.
The fish can be seen in schools at no more than 40 meters deep. It prefers a rocky and grassy sea bottom.
