The royal angelfish (Pygoplites diacanthus) is a species of angelfish found in the tropical Indo-Pacific region in both shallow and deep waters. They have a moderately elongated body that can reach lengths of 25 cm. The colorations vary depending on location, but the body commonly features blue-white and orange stripes. The royal angelfish can live to the age of 15.
