The orangeside triggerfish is a species that lives in the Eastern Pacific at depths between 3 to 36 meters. It is commonly seen around rocky reefs and along continental coasts.

The fish is dark brown on the upper half of the body, light brown/orange on the head and lower part of the body, and has a thing yellow bar from the mouth across the lower part of the head.
