Green Moray

Alternative names: Gymnothorax funebris

The green moray is a moray eel that can be found in the western Atlantic Ocean.
Despite its name, the green moray is actually brown. Its name was given actually because the yellow mucus, which covers its body as a protection from disease and parasite ,in combination with the brown gives the impression that its actual color is green.
The green morays don't usually attack divers, unless they are being disturbed.
