foureye butterflyfish

Alternative names: Chaetodon capistratus, four-eyed butterflyfish

The foureye butterflyfish is a deep-bodied and laterally compressed species of fish. it has a light grey color and a dark forward-pointing chevron pattern. It got its name because of the large spots on each of its rear parts of the body, which resemble eyes. They are found in the Western Atlantic in usually shallow inshore waters. They are one of the few fish that mate for life.
