The eastern frogfish is a bottom-dwelling fish found in eastern Australia, from Fraser Island, Queensland to Kiama, New South Wales. The fish is found at depths of 1 to 150 meters along the continental shelf, estuaries, and inshore reefs. They shelter on rocky reefs, under rocks, in underwater caves, and among seaweed.
