Clams are different kinds of bivalve molluscs. They have two shells of equal size connected by two adductor muscles, and inside there's a burrowing foot. Clams have kidneys, a heart, a mouth, a stomach, and a nervous system.

The animals live in both freshwater and salt water throughout the world. The greatest diversity of clams is found on North America.

Often seen in Tasman Sea
