The bluespotted ribbontail ray is a species of stingray that can be found in tropical Indian and western Pacific Oceans. It can be easily recognized by its bright blue spots on the top of its body which are a warning to the other sea creatures. It has one or two venomous spines behind its tail base which are used in order to fend off predators.
