The blackeye goby is a species of true goby that lives on coral reefs and rocky habitats along the Eastern Pacific Ocean coasts of Canada, the United States, and Mexico.

These fish are recognized by their large dark eyes and distinctive black spot on the first dorsal fins. Their body is long, slightly compressed, and can reach a maximum length of 15 cm (6 in).

Blackeye gobies can be found in a variety of colors, from creamy white to dark purple-brown.
