The MV Captain Keith Tibbetts is a wreck dive site located on the northwest side of the Cayman Brac, but it is also reachable via boat from Little Cayman. The former Soviet Union Koni II class frigate was built in 1984 for the Cuban Navy. In the ‘90s, it was purchased by the Cayman Islands government and was sank off Brac in 1996 to create an artificial reef for divers.

The wreck’s bow is located at a depth of 26 meters/85 feet and the stern is found at 18 meters/60 feet. Given its relatively shallow depth, it is suitable for all divers, including beginners. Visibility is usually excellent. Water temperatures range from 24° to 27° C/ 76° to 82° F degrees year-round.

On and around the MV Captain Keith Tibbetts, divers can find lots of marine animals, including sea turtles, eagle rays, snappers, angelfish, groupers, grunts, anemones, and even reef and nurse sharks.
