The Willemstoren Lighthouse is the southernmost dive site near Willemstoren, Bonaire. This is a surprising spot but beware of the currents! Since the spot is located on the windward side of the island, the currents here can be very strong and often unpredictable. This is not a dive site for novices – only advanced divers and up.
The strong currents carry a lot of plankton, which brought large species of fish such as tarpons and barracudas to the area. However, plankton does affect visibility, which is sometimes limited.
The reef starts at 9 meters/30 feet and ends at 38 meters/125 feet and is filled with soft corals and huge sea sponges. Different wrecks, ship chains, and anchors can also be seen here.
