The USS Kittiwake is a popular wreck dive located off Grand Cayman. Sunk in 2011, the shipwreck is now under the protection of the National Park of Cayman Islands.

The ship is still pretty much intact, sitting on its keel with the top part reaching shallow water. Even snorkelers can see the vessel from above.

Although it is a new wreck, there is some life around it; reef fish, eagle rays, moray eels, and turtles can be spotted here. The visibility is outstanding, reaching 30 meters (98 feet), one of the best on the island.

Divers can penetrate the ship to visit the compression chamber, generators, machine shop, and bathrooms. A giant propeller can be seen resting in the sand.

Divers can visit the USS Kittiwake all year round, but may want to avoid the hurricane season (June through October).

The dive site has a depth of 20 meters (65 feet) and the water temperatures is usually around 27 degrees Centigrade (80 degrees Fahrenheit) year-round.
