The Tunnel dive site is located off the north side of Dilumacad Island (Helicopter Island), not far from El Nido. The entrance is at about 12 meters/40 feet and it’s wide enough for two divers to enter together. A 20-meter/66-foot long tunnel takes you to a cavern in the center. The exit is narrower and will bring you to a rocky area where you can see large fish.
Some of the marine animals you can see at The Tunnel include crustaceans, nudibranchs, pipefish, pufferfish, lionfish, scorpionfish, black sweepers, angelfish, frogfish, octopuses, moray eels, and – if you’re lucky – Napoleon wrasses.
This site is suitable for advanced divers only. The best months to dive here are from November to May. You shouldn’t attempt to dive here when there’s a strong North wind.
