The Balboa is a wreck dive site located in the Georgetown Harbor, Grand Cayman, in only 12 meters/40 feet of water. The 375-foot-long freighter sunk in 1932 and now sits underneath the cruise ships that often arrive in the harbor. The ship was blown up, you can see scattered parts all over the area.

Access to this dive site is granted by special request with the harbormaster. The wreck cannot be dived when cruise ships are visiting.

The Balboa is covered with a healthy amount of coral and sea sponges. Nurse sharks, moray eels, lobsters, octopuses, shrimps, and other marine animals have made it their home.

The wreck is accessible to divers of all levels. Diving in Grand Cayman is possible all year round.
