Just off Socorro Island in the Revillagigedo Archipelago, there's a diving site called The Aquarium. This macro diving spot is home to marine life of all shapes and sizes. It's renowned for being an excellent place to spot whales, as well as other large and small aquatic fauna.
The current here is mild to strong, which is why a minimum requirement to participate in diving trips in the region is to hold an Advanced Open Water certification. November to May is considered the best season to visit Socorro Island and it's during these months that the liveaboards operate diving trips here.
Most of the time, divers can enjoy a good visibility of up to 30 meters and a pleasant water temperature of 21-28 degrees Centigrade.
Among the highlights of the tip are humpback whales, manta rays, dolphins, and schools of hammerhead sharks.
