Tawala Sanctuary is located off Panglao Island, the Philippines, and features a superb coral garden filled with Acropora and table corals. The dive site is still recovering from typhoon Pablo, so there are still areas of broken coral.
The reef starts with sections of wall at about 3 meters/10 feet that go down to 18 meters/60 feet. There are also some submarine terraces at about 12 meters/40 feet.
Marine life; yellowtail barracudas, mackerels, surgeonfish, banded pipefish, ornate ghost pipefish, frogfish, stonefish, scorpionfish, morays, nudibranchs, and more.
Diving is possible all year round, but for the best conditions visit between October and May.
