For those interested in wreck diving, the SS Ruy Barbosa dive spot just off Mindelo is the perfect place to be in Portugal. The wreck measures 149 meters in length, 10 meters in width, and 18 meters in height. The visibility is good and divers can see the ship's boilers and anchors from a depth of 12 meters.
