The Arratoon Apcar was an 80-meter/260-foot iron-hulled screw steamer built in 1861 in Scotland. On February 17, 1878 while on a voyage from Liverpool to Havana, the ship slammed into Fowey Rocks nearly colliding with the Fowey Lighthouse. The ship tore apart and was abandoned.

This is one of the five historic wrecks designated as part of the Biscayne National Park "Shipwreck Trail". The ship is encrusted with corals and home to numerous species of fish.

The wreck lies in just 8 meters/25 feet of water and can be explored by divers of all levels.
