Simon’s Town is a dive site in Tofo, Mozambique that lies in the heart of the “Whale Shark Alley”. With a depth of about 15-17 meters (49-56 feet), the dive features large chimneys of rock with holes and gullies.

The reef is home to a significant number of marine species such as wrasses, snappers, trevallies, angelfish, butterflyfish, torpedo rays, Kuhl’s rays, morays, snake eels, lionfish, parrotfish, octopus, and lobsters. But the highlight of the dive site is without a doubt the whale shark.

Mozambique has a tropical climate with a wet season that stretches from October to March and a dry season that starts in April and ends in September. The water temperature ranges from 22° C/71° F to 29° C/84° F. The visibility is usually good but decreases when the waters carry too much plankton.
