Shark Point is one of the most popular dive sites in Koh Phi Phi. This spot was originally named for the abundance of leopard sharks in the area, although they are less abundant than they used to be. Several underwater pinnacles covered with colorful coral can be explored here.
The dives usually start near the first pinnacle, at a depth of 24 meters/79 feet. If the current is heading north, you can start the dive at the second pinnacle, at a depth of about 7 meters/23 feet.
This is a colorful dive site, with many soft corals, large sea fans, and hard coral gardens in the deeper areas. Marine life also includes of scorpionfish, pufferfish, lionfish, snappers, groupers, angelfish, moray eels, boxfish, harlequin sweetlips, dancing shrimps, and nudibranchs. On rare occasions, divers have been fortunate enough to spot whale sharks.
You can dive at Shark Point year-round. Underwater visibility is around 20 meters/66 feet but can drop to about 14 meters/46 feet.
