Shark Island

Dive site in
Improve

Shark Island is a rocky outcrop whose name comes from the resemblance with the dorsal fin of a shark.

What is truly interesting about this dive site, which has a maximum depth of 25 meters, is that the sides of Shark Island have different types of marine life. The east side of the island has soft corals, gorgonians and sponges, while the west side of the island has hard corals, among which live stingrays, leopard sharks, nudibranchs, moray eels, sweetlips.

There are also barracudas, filefish, butterflyfish and groupers.

The visibility here is usually quite good, in optimal conditions it can reach even 25 meters.

The currents at Shark Point can get rather intense sometimes, so divers need to be confident in their skills and be of at least intermediate level, ideally advanced.
