Shabrur Umm Gamar is a reef/wall dive site located south of Umm Gamar. It consists of the tip of an underwater mountain, each side offering a different experience.
The west side of the spot is a shallow wall that drops to 15 meters with a coral garden inhabited by a multitude of species such as barracudas, trevallies, tunas, mackerels, and more. You may see some eagle rays too.
The southeast side is a wreck site that consists of a small Egyptian patrol boat. The wreck can be found at about 30 meters/100 feet deep and it’s mostly just scattered pieces. Deeper down, at depths reachable only technical divers, lie two more wrecks: the wreck of Colona IV safari boat and the Gulf Fleet 13 tugboat.
The northern part is a drift dive.
Diving at Shabruhr Umm Gamar can be enjoyed by all divers within their respective certification depth limits. Good visibility.
The water is the warmest can be experienced July through September (up to 28° C/82° F), while December through February is when the lowest water temperatures are recorded (down to 21° C/69° F).
