Shaab Claude is a dive site located more than an hour from Safaga and less visited by divers than others in the region. It consists of small reefs and has a clear-cut erg on the southeastern side and a long ridge made up of smaller ergs in its southwestern corner.
The maximum depth here is only 15-18 meters/50-60 feet but there are some occasional strong currents here, so you do need some experience.
The most attractive part is the eastern side of the reef which offers schooling snappers, pufferfish, triggerfish, line butterflyfish, sea turtles, and many other sea creatures. You’ll also find interesting critters among the gorgonians.
