Sandy’s Plateau lies east of the inlet to the Jan Thiel salt pans. This shallow plateau extends to the drop-off where divers can admire a wall covered with hard corals, large gorgonians, barrel sponges, and other underwater flora of all shapes and sizes.
The drop off lies at 10 meters/33 feet and at about 40 meters/130 feet, the reef turns into a sandy bottom.
During the dive, you will encounter many Caribbean spiny lobsters, crabs, and moray eels.
Sandy’s Plateau is accessible from the shore, but you’ll have to swim against the current on your way back to the entry point.
