MV Xlendi is a wreck suitable only for the experienced and advanced divers, at it lies at an average depth of 35 meters and its lowest section is at a depth of 42 meters.
MV Xlendi became the first artificial reef in Gozo after being sunk in October 1999. Another reason why it was sunk was for it to become an attraction for divers.
Although it was stripped from any potential hazards for divers, MV Xlendi landed on the sea floor in an upside down position, which renders it extremely unstable and therefore divers are advised not to penetrate the ship.
The 80-meter-long ship has meanwhile become a home for numerous species of marine life, including starfish, flatworms, damselfish and nudibranchs.
One of the highlights of diving this ship are its propellers.
The average visibility at MV Xlendi is rather good, reaching 25 meters.
