MV Oosterdiep lies at 22 meters deep in the waters nearby Sandy Island, Anguilla, after having been deliberately sunk in 1990 and thus creating an artificial reef.
Suitable for all kinds of divers, the MV Oosterdiep is home to many species of fish and stingrays, such as firewords, snappers, jacks, garden eels, blue tang, shrimps as well as arrowcrabs and turtles. It also lies close to a very good spot for observing many types of soft corals.
The 48-meter ship sank in an almost upright position.
