Million Dollar Point is a dive site in Vanuatu located in from of Million Dollar Beach. The name comes from the value of the war equipment dumped here. At the end of the Second World War, the Americans were left with goods that they failed to sell to the French, the English, and ultimately the locals. To spite them all and not leave the goods behind for free, the Americans decided that all war equipment would be sunk.
Millions of dollars’ worth of goods are now decaying underwater, overgrown with coral. The site is full of wrecks of all sorts, from boats to tracked and wheeled vehicles, among other machines.
