Mae Haad is a stunning dive site located around Koh Phangan. It is populated by big hard corals such as brain and staghorn corals.
Marine life is outstanding; you can spot schooling parrotfish, fusiliers, great barracudas, stonefish, banded sea krait, thorny sea stars, large cobias, and more. Sightings of whale sharks have been reported here. Because of the amazing biodiversity of the reef, this area has been used as a sampling ground for studying coral growth.
Mae Haad is suitable for divers of all levels and due to its shallow depth, it is also perfect for snorkelers. The maximum depth you can reach here is 22 meters/72 feet. Little to no current and good visibility.
