Lake Titicaca is the highest dive site within recreational limits in the world, situated at 3,810 meters (12,500 feet) in the Andes.

The lake is home to over 500 species of aquatic animals, of which 90% are endemic.

Dives here are conducted through El Centre de Instruccion de Buceo en Altura of the Bolivian Navy. Divers must also participate in hyperbaric testing inside a decompression chamber.
