Kogyo Maru is a former Japanese Navy construction supply ship that went down in September of 1944 by U.S. aircraft. The shipwreck is now one of the best dive sites in Palawan and rests off Coron Bay. It lies on its starboard side in about 36 meters/118 feet of water with its port side hull at about 22 meters/72 feet.

The wreck is covered with soft and hard corals and is home to many marine creatures. Schools of batfish, groupers, lionfish, wrasses, razorfish, batfish, snappers, anemonefish, and nudibranchs are frequently seen here. Rays and sea turtles have occasionally been spotted here as well.

Kogyo Maru is remarkable and exciting to dive and makes a great photography subject. Given its depth, this dive is suitable for experienced divers. The wreck can be dived year-round and access is done from the shore. The currents are mild to strong and visibility ranges between 3 and 15 meters/10-49 feet depending on the conditions.
