King Cruiser Wreck

Dive site in
Improve

The King Cruiser Wreck is one of the most popular dive sites off Phuket, Thailand. The former car and passenger ferry sank in 1997 after hitting the Anemone Reef and now lies in 33 meters/108 feet of water on a sandy bottom.

The ship is 85 meters/278 feet long and 25 meters/82 feet and is in very good condition. The wreck can be explored by advanced divers. Penetration was allowed in the first years after it sank but is not considered dangerous after the collapse of the car deck.

Marine life is abundant and consists of species such as snappers, lionfish, and scorpionfish. Bamboo sharks and leopard sharks can sometimes be seen around the wreck.

The King Cruiser Wreck sometimes experiences medium to strong currents. Nonetheless, can be dived by experienced divers year-round from Phuket. Visibility is very good.
