Katherine is a former minesweeper that was sunk on purpose in 1991 to create an underwater artificial reef. Today, it is encrusted with coral, sponges, and is home to plenty of fish like grunts, wrasses, and squirrelfish. Nurse sharks have been seen in this area.
The shipwreck lies at a maximum depth of about 15 meters/50 feet, but due to the currents in the area, it is recommended for experienced divers.
Diving is possible year-round, with the water temperature averaging 26 °C/79 °F. Visibility is around 15 meters.
